There are no known interactions between Adcal-D3 and carbocisteine. It is safe to take these two medicines together.
Why this happens
Adcal-D3 (calcium and vitamin D3) and carbocisteine (a mucolytic used to thin mucus) are processed by the body through different pathways. They do not interfere with each other's absorption, metabolism, or effectiveness.
What you should do
You can continue to take both medicines as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist. You do not need to separate the doses in time.
Important Precautions
Stomach ulcers
Avoid carbocisteine if you have an active stomach ulcer, as it can damage the protective lining of your stomach.
Kidney stones
Do not take Adcal-D3 if you have a history of recurring kidney stones or high calcium levels in your blood or urine.
Food and drink warnings
Foods high in oxalic acid (spinach, rhubarb) and phytic acid (whole cereals)
These foods can reduce the amount of calcium your body absorbs. Avoid taking Adcal-D3 within 2 hours of eating these foods.
Caffeine (Coffee, tea, cola)
High intake of caffeine can slightly reduce calcium absorption and increase its loss through urine. Try to limit excessive caffeine intake.
