Varför detta händer
Glucosamine is an amino sugar used by the body to build cartilage, while magnesium is a mineral involved in over 300 enzyme reactions, including muscle and nerve function. They do not share the same metabolic pathways in the liver, nor do they interfere with each other's absorption in the digestive tract.
Vad du bör göra
Tillbaka till innehållIt is generally safe to take these two supplements together. However, always follow the dosage instructions on the packaging. If you have pre-existing kidney disease or are taking blood-thinning medication (like warfarin), you should consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting any new supplements.

Viktiga försiktighetsåtgärder
Tillbaka till innehållShellfish allergy
Many glucosamine supplements are derived from the shells of crustaceans. If you have a shellfish allergy, you must check the label for a shellfish-free (vegetarian) version to avoid a serious allergic reaction. Vegan or shellfish-free versions are available.
Diabetes
Glucosamine is an amino sugar and may affect your blood glucose levels. You should monitor your blood sugar more closely when starting or changing your dose.
Severe kidney disease (Renal failure)
If your kidneys are not functioning properly, magnesium can build up to toxic levels in your blood, which can be life-threatening. Avoid magnesium supplements unless specifically prescribed by your specialist.
Taking Warfarin (blood thinner)
Glucosamine can significantly increase the blood-thinning effect of warfarin, which increases your risk of serious bleeding. Do not take glucosamine with warfarin unless specifically monitored by your doctor.
Varningar för mat och dryck
Tillbaka till innehållAlkohol
It is best to avoid or strictly limit alcohol while taking magnesium supplements. Alcohol acts as a diuretic and increases the amount of magnesium your body excretes through urine, which can make the supplement less effective. Additionally, both alcohol and high doses of magnesium can cause gastrointestinal upset.
Caffeine (Coffee, Tea, Energy Drinks)
Caffeine can interfere with how well your body absorbs magnesium. It also increases the rate at which magnesium is lost through the kidneys. If you consume caffeine, try to take your magnesium supplement at a different time of day.
Dairy products and Calcium-rich foods
High doses of calcium from dairy or supplements can compete with magnesium for absorption in the gut. If you are taking a high-dose magnesium supplement, it is best to take it at least 2 hours apart from eating large amounts of dairy or taking calcium supplements.

Can I take Aspirin and Furosemide together?
Taking aspirin and furosemide together can make the furosemide (water tablet) less effective at removing excess fluid from your body. Additionally, at high doses of aspirin, there is an increased risk of kidney problems and a build-up of aspirin in your blood, which can lead to side effects like ringing in the ears (tinnitus).

Läkemedelsinteraktionskontroll
Can I take Naproxen and Tramadol together?
Taking naproxen and tramadol together can increase the risk of serious side effects, particularly affecting your stomach and kidneys. There is also a small but important risk of seizures (fits) and a rare condition called serotonin syndrome. However, these two medicines are often prescribed together for short-term pain relief under medical supervision.
