There are no known significant interactions between ashwagandha and glucosamine. Both are generally considered safe to take together for most people.
It is usually safe to take ashwagandha and glucosamine together. They are processed by different pathways in the body and do not interfere with how the other is absorbed, broken down, or used.
Ashwagandha is an adaptogenic herb that primarily affects the body's stress response (cortisol levels), while glucosamine is an amino sugar used by the body to build cartilage.
How to take ashwagandha and glucosamine safely
Always monitor for any unusual side effects.
If you have diabetes, be aware that glucosamine can occasionally affect blood sugar levels, and ashwagandha may lower blood sugar; monitor your levels closely if you have this condition.
Important precautions
Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid)
Ashwagandha can increase thyroid hormone levels, which may worsen hyperthyroidism or interfere with thyroid medications.
Autoimmune diseases
Ashwagandha can stimulate the immune system, which may worsen symptoms of autoimmune conditions or reduce the effectiveness of immunosuppressant drugs.
Shellfish allergy
Many glucosamine supplements are derived from the shells of crustaceans; patients with a shellfish allergy must check the source to avoid a potentially severe allergic reaction.
Food and drink warnings
Alcohol
Ashwagandha may have sedative effects. Combining it with alcohol can increase drowsiness, sleepiness, and impaired coordination. It is best to avoid or strictly limit alcohol while taking this supplement.

Can I take Lisinopril and Potassium together?
Taking lisinopril and potassium supplements together can cause the levels of potassium in your blood to become dangerously high (a condition called hyperkalaemia). While your body needs potassium for your heart and muscles to work, too much of it can lead to serious heart rhythm problems or even cause the heart to stop. Symptoms of high potassium can include muscle weakness, tingling sensations, or palpitations, but often there are no symptoms until the level is very high.

Can I take Mounjaro and Insulin together?
Taking Mounjaro (tirzepatide) and insulin together significantly increases your risk of having a 'hypo' (hypoglycaemia), which is when your blood sugar levels drop too low. Symptoms of a hypo can include feeling shaky, sweaty, dizzy, hungry, or confused. In severe cases, it can be dangerous.
