Fexofenadine is a non-drowsy antihistamine; however, it can still cause drowsiness in a few people. Make sure your reactions are normal before you drive and before you use tools or machines.
Do not take indigestion remedies during the two hours before or the two hours after you take a fexofenadine tablet.
The most common side effects of fexofenadine are headache, dizziness, and feeling sick (nausea).

What is fexofenadine used for?

It is available in tablet form in three strengths: 30 mg, 120 mg, and 180 mg.
30 mg strength is for treating hay fever in children aged 6-12 years.
120 mg strength is for treating adults with hay fever.
180 mg strength is for hives.

How does fexofenadine work?
Tillbaka till innehållFexofenadine works by blocking the effects of histamine, a chemical released by the body during an allergic reaction.
When allergens such as pollen trigger the release of histamine, it can cause symptoms including sneezing, a runny or blocked nose, and red, itchy or watery eyes.
By preventing histamine from acting, fexofenadine helps relieve these allergy symptoms. It can also help reduce itching and skin rashes associated with hives.
Side effects of fexofenadine

Recommended doses of fexofenadine are:
Adults with hay fever: 120 mg once daily.
Children aged 6–12 years with hay fever: 30 mg twice daily.
Adults with hives (urticaria): 180 mg once daily.
Take fexofenadine before food if possible, with a drink of water.
Take your tablets at the same time each day to help you remember.
If you miss a dose, take the next dose at the usual time. Do not take two doses together.
Avoid taking indigestion remedies (antacids) within 2 hours before or after taking fexofenadine, as they can reduce how well it works.
